Same with bike and evey workout you do .. Do it longer but more easy then harder and faster .. When you stress yourself with hard workout your body panic and collect as much calories as possible after your first meal .. This way you wont loose or it will take you years ..

too much intensity is bad because it won't be long enough, but dropping intensity for longevity is bad as well
