Local Bar assoc. referral services consist of who's next in line in that category...LOL and that's the truth Ruth!
I have had far too much experience in dealing with the family court system.
I would suggest speaking to friends, co-workers etc. in your area and ask them to refer you a lawyer if they have ever used one.
About 15 years ago my father used the local bar associations referral list and the next guy in line met my father over dinner, my father was happy with the lawyers spiel wrote him a check and accepted a receipt.
Well needless to say that is the last time my father saw that lawyer again.
