Back in my early 20's I once worked for a guy who had a grade 4 education. He was in his late 40's at the time, an ex-boxer, and was the manager of one of the largest and most successful nightclubs in the city. The man was loved by all of his staff and commanded a great deal of respect among his peers.
Years later I became a health care worker and at one point in my career worked under a hospital coordinator who was one of the most miserable bitches I've ever known. Highly educated, yet quite retarded in the ways of effective interpersonal relation.
Conclusion: Edumuhcation is highly overrated, and is not nor should it be the end-all-be-all of most job requirements. Although important, I find that more often than not a person with some good life experience under their belt and some common sense in their head is the better candidate when choosing someone to work with.
