I disagree quiet. I can give out plenty of good info to anyone that wants it, but that doesn't always mean they are going to know what to do with it or even have the capability to use it. I can give out a full scale tutorial on graphics to 100 people. I'm willing to bet that out of that 100, 10 may actually grasp the concept, 5 of those will be somewhat interested for more than 20 minutes, 2 of those will have the ambition to do something about it, and only 1 will actually posses enough talent to put the information to good use.
I don't think information, in & of itself, is something that necessarily needs to be super-safeguarded. This is why we have things like "open source code".... well, it's wide open for everyone to see... but you don't see a very high percentage of the Internet population taking advantage of it.
