1. Get a picture of you as a baby with your mom, have it enlarged (they have those instant machines) and put it in an EXPENIVE frame (skip the dollar store plastic crap, spend the money on a decent one, even expensive ones are cheaper than most gifts.
2. Give her an invitation specifying a specific date and time you are going to pick her up. Suggest "casual clothing". When you pick her up bring her to a park near the water if possible for a picnic (don't tell her where you are bringing her or why). Have a picnic basket prepared by the deli to include a little bit of a variety of things that would make her feel like she is being spoiled. Have a single flower there to give her and just sit by the water and relax and just talk......tell her about little things she has done for you that meant a lot...and you should have told her before how much it meant...go for a walk.....enjoy the day.
Nothing could be more special than knowing that a child you raised appreciates you and remembers all the little things you did that you thought went unnoticed. It will do wonders for her soul and your relationship. Mom's can never be replaced and are not a part of our lives long enough. I lost mine before I could ever take her on that picnic...don't make the same mistake.
