There was a butterfly feeling in my chest before this. Went to a cardio/pulmonary doc and after some tests he told me that what I had was essentially an occassional misfire of the electrical impulses that make the heart beat. He also told me that what I had was congential, meaning I was born with it. Told me if it bothered me too much to go on beta-blockers for the rest of my life (no thanks), otherwise just get annual exams that included an EKG and a cardiac ultrasound.
When in doubt about something going on it never hurts to check in with the doc.

On beta blockers and get checked over about every 3-4 months. That includes echo, blood work and ekg. Had a cath earlier this year. All is fine. It's been good for me, cause they catch stuff before it becomes a problem.
You know how many guys are about seeing a doctor. Have to wait till they're near death! So now I'm on this routine that keeps me in line. They even did a colonoscopy. I would have never volunteered for that one.
