We all embrace certain elements of fashion. We all choose how we clothe ourselves. It is, on a basic level, a form of artistic expression.
Some people are truly original. Those are the rare Picassos. (And I'm sure they get ridiculed most of all) But most people embrace existing trends.
"Not caring" does not exclude you from the above. Unless you live naked, your "look" is a choice.
