The main problem for all fad diets is that they don't teach you to change your lifestyle. Going ON a diet implies that you will one day go OFF the diet. Once you go OFF the diet, you usually go right back to eating the foods that got you fat in the first place. In order to succeed in the long haul, you need to CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE PERMANENTLY.
People on Aikens either (1) stay on induction for too long a period and ruin their health, or (2) go right back to their old eating habits and gain all the weight back they originally lost.

but that's a problem with the people not the diet.
Atkins pushes a lifestyle change...there are numerous books and cookbooks to take you through all steps clear to the life time maintenance plan.
