The Bush admin is playing up the idea of an attack to effect the election, period. Can't you guys see this by watching them all repeat the same shit day after day? Every Bush spokesperson and right wing pundit says the exact same shit. They imply that terrorists want Kerry to win. It's a fucking joke.
Now they're trying to get the power to put the election on hold, even though the federal government has no authority regarding elections. Imagine November rolls around, Bush will still be down 6 points, and all of a sudden there will be a code red and the elections will have to be put on hold because of a threat. Then he wheels out a couple brownies from gitmo and says he stopped an attack, boom he screws the people once again. I would have thought that theory was far fetched until reading this week's Newsweek.

Or, worse yet, a spectacular attack would make America go running back to Bush because he's the "war president." If a lot of Americans die again like in '01 the world won't see peace for many years.
