I have something coming out soon on sourceforge.
it's basicly pennywise but everything is server side.
The big feature is shared attack data. So if someone attacks one site and gets blocked his threshold on all sites using the software will be lowered. Only way ip's will ever rotate out of the list is if they stop attacking or are added globaly to the exempt list.
No configuration it automaticly adapts, and starts protecting your domains.. Just add them to apache like normal. The software sits at the end of a pipe so no changes or modules to load.
We also included the rbl lists for open proxys.
Bunch of other features..
If someone clicks from a passtrade site it's banned insta, the account is locked, and the owner mailed.
Exempt lists both for ip, and groups of accounts, or singles.
Geoipcity support for easy reports.. lots of other crap.
Working well for us and half dozen testers.
It will be free.
