His job is to use his weight to box out effectively on defence and rebound or slam on offence. He should not be moving the ball (you have guards for that) he should not be penetrating while moving the ball (you have forwards for that) he should not be ranged shooting (you have shooting guards and forwards for that) he does his job, he is one part of a team.
I want you to go shoot a free throw in a 10 foot goal, THEN I want you to lower it from 10 feet till it is only like 3 feet above your head. THEN I want you to see how important a good arch is on a ball and how hard it is to arch into something that is not very high above you. You can practice all you want it is basic physics! Those who can do, do, those who can't do pick about others making more money doing it than they do.
