Both statements sum up each opposing arguement nicely. But I am going to have to agree with rdunn. Love is not a necessity, but rather a want. A security blanket if you will. Perhaps that's an underestimate, but when all is said and done - Chemically, love is no more than overindulgence of chocolate.

To not fall deeply in love, does not inhibit you from sustaining and mainting a "fair" relationship. It does not keep you from enjoying what you do in fact have. The life you in do in fact, LIVE. While a broken heart, can leave you in shambles emotionally for years.

It's either aware & sad or oblivious & happy . I think the ladder of the two, as unfortunate as it is, allows you to enjoy life - Regardless of how limited/skewed your perspective is. Worth the sacrifice to be a "sheep" per se.
