Sasush, PhD, CFA, CFP, CLU, is associate professor of finance at The American College. He specializes in the fields of financial planning, retirement planning, and investments.

Sasush holds a bachelor’s degree, an MBA, and a PhD in financial management and investments, all from The University of Texas at Austin. He has earned three professional designations: Chartered Financial Analyst, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Chartered Life Underwriter.

Before joining the College, Sasush maintained a financial planning practice in Houston, Texas, and was previously a pension sales manager for Aetna Life Insurance and Annuity Company. Prior to his industry experience, Sasush served as a professor at Louisiana State University and the University of Houston, teaching courses in investments and financial management.

Sasush’s consulting experience has included financial planning, corporate finance, business valuation, and bank management. He has worked with both large and small corporations as well as government at the federal and state levels. He also has taught extensively in continuing education programs for bankers, financial planners, and managers.

Author of numerous articles in finance, banking, and investments, Sasush is a frequent speaker on financial planning topics. He is author, editor, or contributing author of the following books: Fundamentals of Financial Planning, Readings in Financial Planning, Financial Decision Making at Retirement, Financial Planning: The New Century, The Financial Services Professional’s Guide to the State of the Art, Financial Planning Applications, Tax Companion 1995 and Solutions Handbook for Personal Financial Planning. Sasush also has evaluated finance textbook manuscripts for six major publishers, and has served on Pass Score and Item Writing committees and written a case for the Board of Examiners of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Sasush has been active in industry affairs, serving on the boards of the Philadelphia Area Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning and the Houston Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, the American Finance Association, the Financial Management Association, and the Association for Investment Management Research. Sasush also has been Financial Counseling Track Adviser for the national conference of the American Society of CLU & ChFC (now the Society of Financial Service Professionals).

Sasush’s commitment to the community has been extensive. In addition to coaching youth baseball, he has been a city councilman, community association president, YMCA board member, Rotary Club board member, and senior warden of his church. Sasush, his wife, Martha, and their three sons reside in Berwyn, Pennsylvania.
