I've got a project that is due to go live this month on a virtual account, because it is not going to push more than 10 gigs a month. The site is very database-heavy, but that's it. I don't see why I'd have to have it on a dedicated server.
The thing is, this site must not go down. I've had various problems with my virtual account, and something happens to the site at least once a week... Either database fucks up, someone else on the server gets a ton of traffic and everything goes down, or recently, all my domains disappear for no apparant reason.
When I call tech support, I'm not taken very seriously... Hell, for $25 a month, I wouldn't take myself seriously either.
So my question is, how much do I have to spend to get someone on the phone who will listen to me. I'm considering getting another unmanaged dedicated for this site, which I still think is overkill given its requirements. I've been a sysadmin for 6 years, at least this way nothing will happen to the box without my knowing
