Are the galleries permanent galleries or submitted galleries?
If they are permanent you will have to change the code to this.
Change GALLERIES to PERMANENT if they are permanent.

If it was something wrong with the code syntax, the script would tell you once you built pages after you made the changes. So its probably something simple like above.
Not being a smart ass, but you did build your pages after you made the changes didnt you? Sometimes its the little easy things we over look.
