Just make sure that you also empty any standing water on your property. If you live near an area that has standing water have the county spray also . If they refuse, dump a few gallons of bleach into the water..
We lost a horse to westnile virus from a mosquito bite..
You would rather make a few animals sick from the bleach in the water than have you or your child get sick..

I do get rid of any still water, but I do have a running creek in the back yard. This year has been pretty bad for mosquitoes because of all the rain , usually by July when it warms up, a lot of them dissapear.I also have a zapper, but quit using it a few years ago, they kill too many other insects besides mosquitoes
