well, it's easy to trivialize a tragedy, but i will stand by my original hypothesis:
"if you took drugs out of the equation the infant would probably be alive"
i have lived long enough to observe what long-term cocaine use does to people and the result may not be exactly what this woman experienced, but i have never seen a positive result.
i worked with many bright, hard-working people in a very lucrative field that were recreational cocaine users---the more $ they made, the more coke they snorted.
and mostly they lost their jobs because i had to fire them, and then i'd hear by way of the grapevine that their wives had left them, and that they were looking for work.
and most of them were really talented guys.
it effects different people in different ways.
i would love to be hearing whitney houston sing jazz ballads today, but that is not going to happen, and i think i know the reason why.
