Speaking of water, one of the nastiest things I ever tasted was also from Louisiana. We stopped at a convenience store in an area with high sulfer content in the water and a fountain Coke tasted like it was blended with rotten egg. I've had more than my share of bad fountain drinks but I wasn't able to choke down more than the 2nd swallow of that. Guy at the store said only people passing through noticed it. I know there is no way I would
ever adjust to that and can still remember the taste of it clearly to this day
