I use both...2K on the laptop and XP on the desktop.
Been using XP for over a month now and blue-screened it exactly once! It's stable as hell and has much better support for modern hardware than 2K does. It's nice too look at too
but you can skin 2K anywhich way you want as well.
The best additions to XP for my money are:
1) Integrated cd burning from explorer.
2) Winzip integrated into the shell...you don't have to open winzip to peek inside zip files, they show up as folders in explorer and you just open them and manipulate the files etc.
