He attacked our allie, Kuwait.
He was launching missles at our allie, Israel.
Shot at our planes when a no fly zone was established.
Denied weapons inspectors regulaly.
I think these directly affected us.
Saddam came to power by forming a coupe, going into the Iraqi senate and reading a list of names. Anyone on that list was then lead outside and shot. Lets not forget about the stories of acid baths etc..
