Every once in a while I do dumb things.. when I see I've made a mistake, I think it's important to exhibit some humility. I always say karma is a bitch, fully expecting that I'll never be on the 'bad' end because I work pretty hard at being fair and nice.
I don't think Jeff is an idiot, that was a flip remark. I'm above making stupid comments like that, especially in dumb dramatic threads on the boards.
The deadbeat comment, well, I know enough to know that when Jeff had the money, he paid his bills with ME to the best of his abilities. I always felt that he sincerely wanted to pay me and for me, at least, intentions do count for something. Business isn't easy and I can't say that if the guy had to choose between paying a mortgage or employees that I would have expected him to pay one of my bills instead.
.....so....
I guess I was a bit grumpy when I sat down to catch up on the boards. I had an entire day of entertaining my staff and some great clients which was fun but exhausting... but then after that, my in-laws showed up for a few hours. They were almost a total buzz kill to what was otherwise an awesome day.
Since I'm already here, I feel compelled to say the following-
On the PornKings note y'all are just poor business people if you're not taking the time to re-evaluate the product now that it's under new management. If you don't have use for promoting those niches, that's one thing. But if you're just jumping on an ignorant bandwagon and writing the sites off, that's another.
These people have always paid on time and have a stellar reputation. In large part, the adult webmaster community owes them thanks for constantly "fighting the good fight" legally where none of us has ever stepped up to the plate to protect free speech and our rights.
If they're saying that they've plugged in their regular back-end to the members areas, then that's a shit load of content for the consumers. Saying that the sites have shitty tours? Give me a break, those girls are hot and they always have been. If you want good business advice, you go to someone that's wise. These people know what they're doing, they've proven that already. So, send them some traffic and then tell everyone what you think... but don't piss in the Cheerios of one of the last standing respectible entities in our industry.
I just think it's foolish to allow such a negative view of Jeff to transcend the awesome job that PK will obviously do now that they own the sites and are managing it with the same wisdom they have the rest of their business.
