WinXp Experts..could use your help!

I installed a LEGAL store bought copy of Windows Xp Pro this afternoon. When I go to boot it up..it just hangs at the logo and stops.

It will boot up in safe mode with no problem.
I've read so many different articles available all over the net on HOW to fix this problem..but none of them work..so far.

I've done the /sos in the boot.ini and I've even added /bootlog after the /sos in boot.ini

It gets to the first line in boot.ini talking about the amount of memory and it says "bootlog" activated, and that's where everything stops.

I've looked for virii and other problems, but keep comming up with nada. I hate to think if I reformat the drive again and re-install winxp again that I would have the SAME result.

So ANY help/advice would DEFINITELY be appreciated!!
