I think people are giving domain names too much importance.
I hear people selling this and that domain name, but the thing is, domain names means almost nothing.
It's how you market your website which counts. Sure a catchy and short domain name might help a bit, but I bet a site with some stupid irrelevant domain name could be marketed as successful as well.
Just look at lycos, yahoo, ebay, amazon.
I don't see them being called searchengine.com, yahoosearch.com, onlineauction.com or orderbooks.com
But most porn webmasters would probably get a domain name with some relevance to what their site is about.
