In downtown Chicago, you aren't going to find any 1BR's furnished for under $2K, short of staying in a SRO flophouse.
I have a good friend that could get you a furnished apartment on the northside of Chicago for under $1900 no problem.
If you could afford more, I was going to highly recommend the
Oakwood.
