----> Question for DESIGNERS that also know PHP <-----
I want to know if this is fair:
I'm hiring a local designer that's also very talented with PHP. He currently works for himself. I want things to stay that way. IE: although he'll be doing work for me I don't want him to be an EMPLOYEE.
His normal rate is $50 per hour. Business is REALLY SLOW for him right now. So this is what I'm offering him and I want to know if it's a fair offer:
I'll pay him, IN ADVANCE, $500 per week. In return, I want him to give me a 50% discount off his usual rate. So in other words, I'm paying him $25 per hour.
He normally takes a deposit from a client, completes the job, and then gets paid.
Is it fair of me to ask for a 50% discount for paying in advance and giving him a guarantee of $500 per week?
I want to be able to receive 20 hours of his time per week, give him a list of projects I need done, and have him schedule them for me.
Feedback, anyone?
