First, let me say that it would be just too hard for me to give up any years of my youth for money. Now, if I were an old coot with my best days behind me, then sure!

Ok, let's say you "industrialize" a 3rd world country, who is going to run this country? It takes Nations a varying number of years to reach steady state; you cant simply "reform" a country by injecting cash into it.
And I'd say it's quite the opposite - EQAULITY (not inequality) is the way of life for ignorant people because they fail to see the economic inability to make "everything right". I'd love to see equality, but show me a system that can deliver it. Sooner or later everything will go back to the way it is....And you'll be long dead and gone by then.
Fuck, look at communism - wasn't that supposed to make everybody "equal"? Communist states tend tend to be more impoverished and supressed than their capitalist counterparts.

Are you saying don't try to help because it won't make a difference anyway?
There are people all over the world who want and are asking for help. Saying that not helping them is the same as helping is crazy.
If someone were to build an irrigation system, or school system, or industrial sector in a third world country, with that $100 billion, belive me it would make an immediate and beneficial impact on the entire region. Once they know how to do it for their country, the residents can take that knowledge and show other countires how to do the same. And for less money. Everybody wins.
You would be surprised at how quickly people can learn and adapt to stabilize a country once the resources are made available.
