It's an all-volunteer job so how picky can they really be about who they get to maintain the enormous DMOZ database? The general perception of corruption in the DMOZ editor pool is WAY overblown. Yes, some editors do shady crap but most are on the up-and-up and the shifty ones get busted eventually.
