I'll assume that having 10,000+ pages that were nothing more than Keyword-keyword-keyword-iframed sponsor hosted gallery had nothing to do with it then.
It sucks, though. Out of all the 1000s of spammy sites out there, Smashing Thumbs was actually pretty good.
