Yes, the HE detergent for sure. I personally don't like the smell of the Wisk and the powders I don't like either. Liquid Cheer HE and Tide HE have worked the best for me.
What I like most about the front loader is that I can wash handwashables in there
Saves a lot of time having to clean the toothpaste out of my sink so I can wash there
It's also great for large items like comforters. I've washed down items in there also - just use a rubber ball or old tennis shoe (clean) with down in the dryer so it fluffs up
