my ride got fucked up recently, I was stationary at some lights and another car hit me from behind, travelling at approx 80-100k, my car was an absolute wreck, It got smashed in between the car behind and the one infront.. not pretty
it's been a few months since then, I got a new car since that one was written off, I lost a few $k though in the process - I'm still trying to work on a compensation case..
I had whiplash too.. took months to go away
Very fucked up situation, it's a huge amount of stress all because some idiot did some stupid shit..
I feel for you Plan9.. it sucks
.. I'm not sure what the legal system is like in the USA, but I'm sure you'll manage to get more than I do
