If it's content to be used ONLY in the promotion of the sponsor, what's the problem with watermarking? If an affiliate is going to promote my site, for example, the images have the site logo watermarked... that's the whole idea, build name and visual recognition of the site, true?

However, I completely agree with your assessment of hosted galleries. I also allow them to use those galleries on their own server for the sake of implanting recip tables, changing text, etc.



To the rest of the original question:
1 - Ask your affiliates what they want. Maybe there's a way to offer both raw and edited? Just like a business, the best way to find out what your "customers" want is to ask them!

2 - See Above

3 - I would say it doesn't matter if the wm is text or logo - but I would, however, keep it standard across the board...
