Hehehe -- I forgot about that! God, didn't you just think he was going to keel over any second though? The show I saw was in Tacoma, WA - I just had to look it up in my journal:

Wow. I saw/heard Ray Charles tonight in concert. It's amazing to me how resilient & strong people are . . . and how frail and fleshy too. He was helped onto the stage and started out coughing and hacking a bit. Some of the sustained high notes came out as silent crackly static screams. But still there was no doubt we were in the presence of a super-talented legend. The force of his voice, the style of his piano playing, his personality . . . it was a privilege to witness in real life. The high points for me were him singing 'Your Cheatin' Heart' and 'It's not Easy Being Green'."
