I didn't think you were out looking for drama either. I think it's absurd for them to make the request & in the same breathe make it a point to ask you to continue to promote them afterwards. The fact that you're posting your situation here - where everyone is baffled, may shed some light on the ones making the request. They may actually realize the complexity of what they are asking you to do.
