Gold is currently around $383/troyoz. Given that there's 31.1 grams per troyoz, that would mean the equivalent weight in $100s would yield $3110. Thus, a $100 bill is currently around 8.1x its weight in gold, meaning that the same 4 people would only be able to cart around $1mil in gold boullion on equivalent weight (although the gold would be much more dense and therefore concealable). Still, if the guys from Three Kings had come across a bunch of suitcases of greenbacks instead of gold, they would have been much better off to cart that off instead, pound for pound.
I don't know why I felt compelled to figure this out, but... hey, who knows. Maybe come in handy at some point in the future.
