On that note, Lady Mischief and Jact...did this sponsor use the normal tricks...like cheap trials that need to be cancelled 24 hours before end of trial, or else the surfer gets rebilled at full membership prices. Or the other favourite, adding a few cross-sells that also need to be cancelled...again 24 hours before end of trial..or else the surfer then has 2 or 3 more FULL PRICE memberships to contend to.
I am guessing that the above is true. Very few straight forward, honest programs will convert in the manner you have indicated.
If so, then here is where the sympathy dies. Screwing the consumer?...then take your lumps...

I don't think they did, but honestly, I didn't check the site without my popup blocker off and didn't join myself. I will look into it though.
