Entertainment and vices always experience a boom during wartime. Tired soldiers coming home need entertainment to keep their minds off their shell shock, lonely women at home need something to do, and nobody wants to really think about what's happening, so they numb themselves.
But yeah.. the whole martial law thing is a little scary. China, here we come.
