here's the right answer.
If you want to minimize your risk you have all the documents on file, if you want to risk it you do not.
If you get visited by the authorities you will need a lawyer to argue what your rights are, That or show them the documents, your choice.
I would never rely on a person I have never met to have the documents, just becasue he says he has them and they are in order does not make it true.
Trust is earned not given freely.
