speaking of popup-hells... i run my site fairly clean. check it out, i got one little non-bandwidth intensive popup on load to help my top 5 referrers. the other day a site ask for a link exchang and it had 9 exit popups! (i count everything, including javascript-error popups which some of us have to deal with. if you gotta press close on it, i count it as a popup.) anyway... if you check out my site, it's straight-forward, hardly any blind links at all, and people who click off my site, 95% of the time, get to go where they want to...

what my problem is, why send my good producitive traffic to another site that has a popup-hell so they make the money off of MY good surfers? i just don't know what to do about this.

i'm thinking about banning every site that has any popup at all. but i don't know if i have the power to still make any money doing that. are there enough non-popup sites out there to link to? the only alternative is for my to join hq's daily nude into popup-hell so i'm not giving out money i could make myself.

one idea i had was this: intice everyone to create an index2.html that has no popups at all. webmasters can code their site so that all popups are disabled when visiting via index2.html. it's not very hard to do this.

i'm starting to get annoyed at how 'my' scene is turning into shit... but i can only survive by linking to other sites so i can't just drop my links.

actually, right now i'm as fair as fair can get. my site gives a text link to every single last referrer on my site. even if you only send 1 hit you get listed. i'm starting to believe that being fair (to webmasters and to surfers) is not the way to make money and succeed.

anyone relate to what i'm saying??
