The more I think about message boards and their popularity, something comes to mind that is most of the time both overlooked and underestimated. Exclusive communities. message boards and public BBS sites have their advantage and of course are going nowhere, but the power of exclusive communities has yet to be flexed by anyone to the extent it should.
I predict the coming of exclusive webmaster communities where people will pay to post and be a part of. Not everyone needs newbies or their ideas, some people are looking for an exclusive place to make deals with people who are both willing and capable of stepping up to the table with more than "would you hit this?" threads. Trust me, people are craving this and it is coming. Whether some jump on it or not who knows, that's up to you and your financial backers. But I can see them coming and maybe not all will survive, but one shall, and it's up to someone to do it.
What exclusive communities?
Simple, some people are tired of dealing with all the bullshit that is involved with unrestricted public access, multiple nicks, fake drama, and shallow posts of broke haters trying to bash successful webmasters and/or program owners.
