My husband and I talked about this very thing last week before the kids could get to us with it and what we decided to do is have a little party type thing for them and a bunch of their friends so they could dress up and have fun but not have to deal with the whole trick or treat thing. I remember how much fun we had as kids getting to go trick or treating but times have changed and like it or not we must adapt to these changes.
We have been saying for a few years that this year we aren't letting them go..... but with the recent Anthrax scare in the company my husband is currently working in, I think this year we are sticking to that and not letting them go....... they'll be pissed but I just can't risk it this year. I vote get some of their friends together and have them a little party of their own.
And YES I am a paranoid as hell Mom.
