Makeup is the same way. I wear very little, but I love buying all of it, putting it on once and putting it into a drawer SWEARING I'll wear it again - it never happens. 
And don't get me started on why I love watching cooking shows and reading recipe books and magazines, but I don't cook.

I am with you on the make-up front. My friends laugh at me because I have tons of it, but they very rarely see me ware it, the same goes for the lipstick LOL
