Thats the problem with multi month memberships. Your always going to be held accountable until that membership expires or is chargedback. Instead of the surfer paying a monthly fee, YOU owe the surfer. They have paid their money, and you damn well better deliver that service.
Monthly recurring seems to be the way to go. As long as you have constant updates, fresh QUALITY content and a decent members area you should do great.
