Why? Mostly because this industry like to screw customers, but for the same reason, I would say people will still pay 16.6% more if you give them a 'secure' way of paying the membership.

Exactly -- glad I'm not the only one to bring this up.
I don't think it's a matter of "screwing" customers, but of them paying more for the convenience of not having to try to find the cancel page, etc. after they jack off and just want to go to bed.
I'll bet Ticketmaster (just one example) screws more people for more money than the porn industry could ever dream of reaming.
