Yup, a sad fact of porn life...
porn can be exploitative and degrading...it has more than its share of sleazeballs and scumbags...it is the porn industry afterall.
Very seldom are girls forced into it (although force in much more common in European countries (where most bestailaity and scat porn are created)), it's not always the case. We've had mroe than our share of models who've willingly done some admittedly nasty stuff for us in front of the camera..then a year goes by and they find their lifemate and suddenly their "past" gets discovered and they scream "I was forced to do it". That's why when we shoot, we videotape the whole session to document the mood of the model. We also give a one hour "cooling off" period to give the model a second chance to back out, because once the release is signed and cameras roll, it's too late. We sometimes do more controversial material like bloodplay, so for us it's especially important to document every step of the way. We even go so far as to document them signing the model release and we don't allow drugs or alcohol on the set.
Now, not all photogs are that way...a LOT are the grden variety letch who rents a room at the local Motel 6 and parades the local street whores through the doors are has them work in unsanitary conditions for little to no money.
There is a lot of drug abuse and despite the new "mainstream" acceotance of some sorts of porn, it's still a dirty business. Now, that said, is it any more seedy or sleazy then the "mainstream" counterparts? Not really, but there is still a stigma. So, I'd say most charges of "I was forced to do it" are false, however, there is very much a dark side to this business...whether the models are smiling as they take their 5th cumshot in he 20 man bukakke-thon or not....
