There's no reward in telling the truth. Because the majority of people will see you differently once they know. It's in their values. You won't be able to change it even if you really tell them what you do.
I don't have a boss anymore, I go on vacation whenever I want..
That's what I'm proud of.. I don't feel the urge to tell the world about it.
We all know that everyone look at porn, but you won't get any medals if you tell them you're an adult webmaster. I don't see the point.

If everyone around you knows what you do for a living... that would seem to be a more free life than worrying that someone you want to be friends with might find out what you do and stop being your friend.
There's a point in there somewhere.
