ARTIFICIAL CONCIOUSNESS
On my computer, i have a gadget called a ?calculator?. If I call it up pointing with the mouse to it?s icon on the screen and clicking the mouse button, the computer becomes a calculator. The screen turn into a picture of numbered buttons and control keys, like thoose one finds on the front of most calculators. What?s more, i can now use this calculator as if it were real thing. I can push the buttons with the arrow driven by the mouse and carry out calculations.
How much of what my computer is doing could be described as some form of « conscious » thought ? some form of artificial consciousness ? As if the computer was conscious to notice the movements of mouse and follow the orders. This artificial intelligence which is the hidden product of computer programming giving birth to hardly noticed « artificial consciousness » among the computers ; which also sleeps when it is shuted down like us. They are no machines, they are matters with their own consiousness to follow thing going within themselves. I have said much of what their is to be said on the subject and attempts at further explanations are superflous.
Somebody has rightly said : A true thinker cannot explain his own thinking. I want your feedback. I will higly appreciate your response to this mail of mine.
