I use credit cards for everything I possibly can, including paying for utility bills

I have several cash rebate cards, an Amazon card that gives me gift certificates, and I've earned about 10 free flights over the years on one of my master cards
I pay them in full every month and enjoy the protection if something I purchase isn't what I was sold.
Debit cards are fine and dandy until you find out yours is being used fraudulently because you're bouncing checks

If you have a debit card, I STRONGLY suggest getting rid of it. If you need to, write your credit card purchases in your checkbook like you would your debit card. That way you'll have the money to pay it off when the bill comes in
