I have had mini pinschers for a few years now, they make great buddies.
BUT
Be prepared for a little badass dog that LOVES to bark at everything. They are super duper protective and anything that they hear like in the middle of the night they blow up barking and growling. At least that is what my dog does. He growls and barks and howls and grumbles at everything. But they are fantastic little alarm dogs.
Actually I guess it also depends where you live. The more people that come near his territory the worse the barking!
At the same time it only takes him about ten minutes to acquaint himself with visitors and then he won't leave them alone and wants attention and to play.
Just please do not think that because mini pins are small they are easy like other small dogs! They are known as the king of the mini breeds and require way more attention than other small breeds.
The first year they destroy everything. My dog even climbed up on an expensive keyboard and was trying to leap onto the kitchen counter once when he was about 5 months old trying to get an unattended t-bone steak. Really smart and conniving little fuckers too. But they are my favorite small breed dog.
Make sure you get to see the parents! Make sure the parents have a nice disposition and personality or you may wind up with a poorly bred animal with problems.
And remember, if you don't know anything about big doberman pinschers and that this is a bred down version, you will be stuck with a fierce little devil dog. Big dog, small body. They are unlike any other small breed so far as I have seen.
