When you have hundreds of people talking about topics that range from advanced scripting to how often you jerk off, there are bound to be differing opinions, and there are bound to be a few complete idiotic morons that stir up arguments. My point is, sometimes a few pissing matches are not only inevitable on a busy board, but actually make things interesting sometimes. Imagine a straight-up no BS board that is all "shop talk", all black-and-white solutions, everyone in agreement all the time. BOORRRINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is this mix of people and opinions that makes GFY so compelling to return to day after day, for me anyway. I'll join in on any intelligent discussion that interests me, but I'll be damned if I'll keep quiet if someones being a total idiot or talking shit about me. Message boards are, if anything, about freedom to voice your opinion, and the freedom to take some flak if your opinion is stupid.
