Marijuana is sometimes described as a ?soft? drug as opposed to ?hard drugs? such as heroin and cocaine. The label is misleading. In truth, ?soft? drugs do not exist. Marijuana and hashish ? like all drugs ? are poisons. The amount you take determines how it affects you. A small amount is a stimulant, it speeds you up. A larger amount is a sedative, it puts you to sleep. An even larger amount acts as a poison and can kill you. For instance, caffeine is a drug. Two or three cups of coffee wake you up. Ten or twenty cups would probably put you to sleep. A hundred cups of coffee could make you very sick and possibly kill you.
